More Santa picts
Here a few more picts from Carter's visit with Santa. As you can see from the picts, he sure loves his Uncle Colt. He's looking at him when they are with Santa. :)

Grrr, Cristina's
Today after school we went to Cristina's just like we have been doing for the past 3 years. J'Layne and Mrs. Garcia got there first and said how many people they had coming. They wanted to sit down while they waited just like we do every Friday. They said that they had to wait to have more people come before they could sit. The place was empty, so they didn't see why they couldn't just sit. Long story short, they got to sit. Our waiter was not friendly at all, and acted put out. There was a lot more that happened, that ended with Ruben and Mrs. Garica having a very heated discussion with the manager, mostly in spainish. Needless to say, our Cristina's tradion is going to be moved elsewhere. Bummer, I love Cristina's. :( Carter had a great time socializing. He fell asleep in Tolson's arms. :)

Basketball game
Tonight Kris has a poker tournement, so Carter and I went to see Uncle Colt play basketball. Carter loved watching the game. He also loved being entertained by Clint's sister Kristen, and Mitchell's sister Brooke.
Carter loved sitting on the court looking at the shiny floors. You can see Colt #41 in the background.

Dinner with friends
Last night Carter and I went to dinner at Mi Cocina with Jess and Tolson. We had a nice time catching up. It has been hard to do that with Jess being at a different school, and me being split between two schools. Carter ate a whole jar of carrots and a whole jar of bananas. He finished his dinner with pieces of tortilla. Jess and I shared yummy sunset fajitas! I will be craving them for a while! Carter was very popular at the resturant, because my mom had given him a mohawk, hairspray and all. It is always fun to hang out with good freinds.
I just love the beautiful lights in Legacy Square!

Moma's boy
I got this shirt that says "Moma's boy" well before Carter was born. When I saw it, I fell in love with it, becasue I wanted Carter to be a moma's boy. Well, it seems my wishes are coming true. Carter has really started becoming "my boy." Now, I am happy to say that he is still very friendly with everyone, and will let anyone hold him, but as they do, I catch him looking at me wrinkling his nose and smiling. When I pick him up from my mom's house each day, he always gets so excited to see me. He kicks his legs and squeels! Lately he and my mom have been waiting out front for me to come home, and he has started recognizing my car. My mom gets mad (not mad really, maybe jealous) because, he reaches for me, but won't reach for her. Tonight at Colt's basketball game Kristen was holding him, and I had to leave to get something from my mom, and he started crying when I left. This may sound silly, but I kinda liked that he was being a "moma's boy."

First visit with Santa
Tonight my mom, Colt, and I took Carter to meet Santa for the first time. I was hoping to beat the big crowds going on a weekday night. Apparently I should have researched a little more, becasue it was "bring your pet night." So..........we waited in line with kids AND dogs. I felt a little guilty that I didn't have Wrigley and Fenway with me, but that would've been crazy! I noticed that the people that had dogs had to sign a waiver. I was curious as to what it said. Anyway, Carter did a good job with Santa. I thought it was funny, because when I went to hand Carter to Santa, he said, "Don't let him look at me." I guess he has had a lot of experience with freaked out babies. Carter was fine this year, though I am sure next year will be different. He wrinkled his nose and smiled at the camera. I have to say that Santa earned his money (which they must pay him a ton based on the photo prices) becasue as I was leaving he was holding down a huge boxer to take a picture. Hee hee, poor Santa!

And we're mobile folks!
So Carter has started crawling. Well, scooting backwards and rolling that is. Does that count? Tonight he made it all the way to our bedroom scooting backwards. I just know he is going to be into everything in no time! Oh, and an update on the baby food.......he likes it now! Carrots and bananas are his favorites. I guess all he needed was time!

Thanksgiving
We had a great Thanksgiving week. On Wednesday we headed down to Katy. It was a LONG drive with a restless baby and TWO dogs! The last time we drove to Katy, Carter was a much better traveler, sleeping the whole way. Things were much different this time. He was wanting to be entertained! I sat in the back seat with Carter and Fenway, and Wrigley got to sit up front with Kris. Carter went through every book and toy I brought quickly. It didn't help that the trip took 6 1/2 hours. We hit horrible traffic in Conroe! Once we got there, we had a nice time. Carter loved eating dressing with Thanksgiving dinner and loved all the attention he got. The only negative thing is that he got a cold (along with cutting his first tooth- it's STILL at the gumline), and couldn't breathe through his nose, so he had sleeping issues! Kris and I realize we have so much to be thankful for. Especially our sweet baby boy!

More Austin picts
Mall Madness
Today Carter and I met Shawna, Corbin, and Gage at the mall. We had a fun time! Corbin was so sweet, and held Carter's hand. He even taught Carter to talk, and let us know that he said that he wanted to go to the play area! Carter loved watching the kids at the play area. It's hard for me to believe that very soon Carter will be running around the play area, instead of just watching. He's growing up so fast!

Sipping from a straw
When Erica and I were at dinner Saturday night, I asked for a glass of water for Carter. The waiter brought him a kid's cup with a straw. I gave it to Carter, not thinking he could drink from it, and low and behold he could do it! So, today at the grocery store, I bought him his own big boy cup with a straw! He was so proud of himself!

Lunch with friends
Today Carter and I had a nice day together. It was so fun to be able to have the day with him. I am so glad I got the whole week off for Thanksgiving break! After a morning of being "housewife" (my dream job), we went to a yummy lunch with Missy, Julie, and Jessica. Carter had so much fun getting lots of attention! Carter can't wait for his friend Colin to be born in February!
