birds and turles and fish, oh my!

For breakfast on Tuesday we stopped at McDonald's. Carter had some yummy pancakes and fed his leftovers to the seagulls.

The we went to the NOAA federal sea turtle sanctuary. Here they are working to get 4 species of turtles off the endangered list. It was really neat, but we had trouble hearing the lady because a HUGE rain storm started as we got there. These baby turtles are the "class of 2007" babies. We were instructed not to get our fingers anywhere near the tanks because they could bite your finger off!!

These sea turtles were about to be released back into the ocean

Aunt Kristen, Grammy and Carter with the turtles

Then we went to Kemah on our way home

Bird!

Walking along the boardwalk with Grammy

There were hundreds of hungry catfish here that we fed

Carter tried to play in the splash pad, but there were just too many bid kids there.

Eating his favorite food at Joe's Crab Shack right on the ocean.

Carter's 2nd Astros game

Grammy and I took Carter to his 2nd Astros' game. It was extra special because they were playing the Texas Rangers- who were were secretly rooting for- notice Carter's outfit is blue! Now this game was not as relaxing as his first game almost a year ago where he sat nicely and watched the game. This time he wanted to walk around! We kept him entertained with eating, dancing and eating some more (I bought him ice cream) and then called it a day at the top of the fourth. Even though we couldn't stay the whole game, we had a great time all the same!

I didn't get many good pictures at the game because Carter was so active, but I did get some cute ones of his outside the stadium. Oh and thanks to Ella for letting us borrow her umbrella stroller- my arm greatly appreciates it!!

If I could only get out of this stroller I could have some REAL fun!

Yea! Freedom! Carter went to each ball and hugged it!

Meeting baby Isabella

On Wednesday we went to meet baby Isabella! Isabella is my college roommate and dear friend Alex's new baby girl. I was so excited to see Alex and Isabella. We had a great visit and Carter LOVED Isabella!
Isn't she precious? She has Alex's pretty blue eyes.

I tried to get Carter to sit beside Isabella for a picture, but he refused- he wanted to sit in front and look at her.

Alex and her precious baby

Laughing after looking at himself in the mirror.

Isabella "kissed" Carter's head

and Carter kissed Isabella's foot.

Carter just loved Alex! He patted, kissed and hugged her. They had a great time playing together!

Visit with Cole

Later that day we went to Cole's house to play. Carter had a great time and I got to visit with Ella and Katie. Oh how I miss my friends in Katy!

Since Cole is such a big boy now that he is 2, he taught Carter a lot of things like how to play soccer

and how to jump!

Cole also taught Carter how to mow the yard! He even let Carter have his extra lawn mower to take home!

Much to Cole's dismay, Carter found his own use for the lawn mower.

So Cole decided to try to lift him up and give him a ride.

It didn't quite work!

Ella helped Cole lift Carter on the lawn mower

Driving home

After a fun and long trip we headed home on Thursday. Carter did some light reading on the drive home. I love the way his feet are crossed and he is concentrating so hard!

If you can't beat him..........

join him! Wow- that title sounds kinda bad, but it's not how it sounds.........Today after getting onto Cater for the millionth time about getting into the dog's water I offered a compromise. I set up his own water station- complete with water bowls. He had a great time playing in the water!

Carter had fun throwing things into the bowls

Carter put his head in the water! I remember Colt tried to put his head in a puddle when he was little. :)

Playgroup!

Carter and I had a great time at playgroup at Brynn's house! Carter got to actually interact with other kids his age. He had fun- he was a little rough at times, but all in all he did great! We can't wait for our next get together!

Carter loved playing in Ally's car! He and another little girl kept fighting over it!

Carter loved sitting in Ally's little chair (maybe we need to get him one) and it was so cute- his new little friends kepy trying to join him in it!
