Sick?

Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday night Carter was up off and on all night crying unconscionably. Every time we went into his room it got worse. It was very uncharacteristic of him, so Kris decided that we should take him to the doctor. I was very reluctant because I often feel like my doctor thinks I am overreacting, but I went ahead and took the day off and took him to see Dr. Berger. Kris and I both thought it was his ears. Nope, they were all clear. Next check was his throat. There was the problem. The doctor said he has white puss in his throat. Yuck! So, she sent a nurse in to do a strep test. I was very impressed with how well Carter took that swab being stuck down the back of his throat. He barely even cried. Anyway, the test came back negative, so doctor's orders were plenty of fluids and Motrin. The rest of the day Carter acted like he felt fine and he slept well Thursday night. Maybe he just wanted a day home with mommy. :)

to this in 2 minutes? He's throwing a fit because I moved him away from the dog's water bowl. Do you see the tears and slobber? He means business!

Happy Mother's Day!

Carter came into this world and has walked away with my heart! I am so happy to be his mommy. I am also so lucky to have had such a great mommy as a role model. My mom is my best friend. Though we often times butt heads, I don't know what I would do without her. I love you mama!!

Coloring!

Cousin Stacy got Carter these nifty crayons for his birthday and he used them today to make Mother's Day cards for Grammy and Mimi!

7th tooth

Carter's 7th tooth has broken through! It's his 3rd one on the bottom right! I'm on the lookout for the one on the left side!

New trick!

Today Carter figured out how to get back up after he falls down! Sometimes he gets up, just to fall down again, but he never gives up! He has also mastered the art of doing a pivot turn. It is so funny to watch him take a few steps and then pivot and walk the other direction!

This is one of the pictures that was taken of Carter at his first official photoshoot one year ago today. It's hard to believe that that tiny helpless baby is the big independant boy I have gown to love so much!
