Christmas in Midland

Christmas morning we drove to Midland to spend Christmas with Kris' family. It was a long drive, but we didn't have much traffic. I did a horrbiel job of documenting our time there, but we stayed for 4 nights. Carter got spoiled with presents and played LOTS of High Ho Cherry Oh. I would say he played about 30 games of it with whoever he could convince to play with him!
Also, Kris felt Abby kick for the first time one night there. She is so inconsistant and will kick a few time and then when someone tries to feel it, will stop, she's s little stinker already! Anyway, here are the few pictures I did take.

Yummy!

*Funny story, while we were gone, my parents watched Wrigley and Fenway. My brother Cody was getting ready to leave and has a bag of 18 cookies and a bag of Chex mix to take home with him sitting on his bed with his stuff. Well, Fenway went in there and ate all the cookies and then whole bag of Chex mix. My mom was not very happy with her. And to top it off, she threw it all up the next day, yuck!

Carter's going to have a little......

Sister!!
baby girl 006
I was soooo shocked to get this exciting news! Everyone has been talling me that they thought it was a girl, but I thought there was no way we would be blessed with a little girl. I grew with three brothers. I was the oldest and evrytime my mom was having a baby, I wanted it to be a girl SO bad. I remeber crying when my mom told me my middle brother Austin was going to be a boy. Then when Carter was a boy, I thought I was destined to have all boys. I LOVE everything to do with girls. I love bows, fixing hair, painting fingernails, playing with dolls and of course the adorable clothes! I also have a really close relationship with my mom and I really want to have that with my daughter.
So, going into the big sonogram, I had myself ready for a boy. I of course would be happy with a sweet baby boy and realize how blessed I am just to have a healthy baby, but I have always dreamed of a little girl. We decided to bring Carter with us to help him to be able to visualize the baby. He was very quiet in the sono room. I kept saing, "Why is there a baby in mommy's tummy?" The sonographer took her time and looked at every part of the baby. She said her heart and brain looked perfect. I am usually able to distinguih things on a sonogram, but had some trouble making things out this time. Carter kept saying, "I see it's eyes." (even when we were looking at it's abdomen!) I told himit was kinda like looking for things in the clouds. He got a little restless here and there. I asked him if he wanted a brother or sister, and he said brother. Not long after that, the sonographer said, "Are you ready to find out the gener." I was SO ready! She said, "It looks like a girl" Carter got mad and jumped out of Kris' lap. Kris got him back on his lap and clamed him down, saying, "Carson has 2 sister, Emma and Ella. Don't you want a sister like them?" This seemed to make him feel better. I asked the sonographer, "Are you sure." She told me she had a pretty clear shot and didn't see anything. I really think I was in shock! I immediatly texted everyone! We then went back to see Dr. Campbell. Carter got the hear the baby's heart beating and he thought that was pretty neat. He just kept asking, "Whe is there a baby in your tummy." We would respond, "So it can get bigger, it's too little to come out now." To which he would respond, "Why" and then "why" etc. Dr. Campbell measure my stomach and my uterus is measuing 24 weeks, though I am only 20 weeks. The babay measured 20 weeks 3 days, she just said the she is streatching WAY out! No wonder I have been so uncomfortable! When we were leaving, Carter was pretty clingy when we left and wanted me to hold him. I think he is staring to feel a little weird about the whole thing. He is excited though! When we got to my mom's this morning, the first thing he told told my mom was, "There is a baby in mommy's tummy. I saw it's eyes on the tv. I heard it's heart beeping." Oh, and he still wants to name her Spiderman!
Be on the lookout for a lot of new posts- I am sooo behind and I plan on catching up soon. Plus be on the lookout for posts about getting ready for our baby girl!
