Bootiful day at the zoo

On Saturday Kris was so sick that he went to Care Now and found out that he had pneumonia! He got a bunch of medicine and instructions to rest. Carter and I kept ourselves busy by going to the zoo with my mom and Colt. It was such a beautiful day and we had a great time! Carter's first time at the zoo!

Colt's way taller then the biggest penguin.

Carter's about the size of the smallest penguin.

Fenway is Fun!

Carter has found a new friend in Fenway. She tolerates him much better than Wrigley does. He loves to pet her and tries to eat her tail! She is such a sweet girl!

Look at that snotty nose- yuck!

Hmmmm, what's this?

The tail straight to the mouth!

My little pumpkin

I finally took Carter to the Pumpkin Patch today to take pictures in his pumpkin outfit. I think the pictures turned out pretty cute. I have to give a big thanks to my mom, Colt, and Justin for singing "Humpty Dumpty" over and over to get Carter's attention. In the pictures Carter is wearing the pumpkin costume that I got last year at The Children's Place for 99 cents! I LOVE to get good deals. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the pictures of "My little pumpkin." I'll take the fourth pumpkin!

Poor Fenway

Well, we finally got a diagnosis for Fenway ($1,000 later). She has been diagnosed with a very rare (the vet clinic only has 3 patients with this, and Fenway is one of them) disease called Addison's Disease. (Hey, at least it has a cute name). The definition is
" Addison’s disease (hypoadrenocorticism) is caused by a lower than normal production of hormones, such as cortisol, by the adrenal glands. The adrenals are small glands that are located near the kidneys. Adrenal hormones are necessary to control salt, sugar and water balance in the body." I think it explains why she has been so sickly her whole life, anyway,
when we brought her in she was in shock, on her deathbed basically. Her body temp was low, her heart was barely beating, and she couldn't walk. She was down to 18 pounds (normal weight is 25). After they did tons of tests including an x-ray, they were clueless as to the problem. Well, Monday night we had to take her to the Emergency Vet to spend the night, and the vet there wanted to run an electrolyte test. Kris said, don't do it, if it needs to be done, our vet will do it. Well, they did it anyway and this is what led our vet to test her for this disease. Thank goodness, they didn't listen to Kris! The results came back positive today, and the doctor gave her a shot and said that she should make a dramatic recovery. She will hopefully live a long, healthy life, but will have to have a shot every 3-4 weeks, that costs $65. I told Kris she's better be on her best behavior! Anyway, I just wanted to give you an update, and hopefully Fennie will be back to her old self in no time!

Football and Frightfest

On Saturday we had a busy day! We first went to watch Caden play football. It was a VERY windy day, but we really enjoyed watching Caden tackle the other team's players. Next we went to Six Flags for Fright Fest and it was REALLY crowded! We didn't stay too long because of the crowds, but Carter did get to go on his first train ride at his first time at Six Flags. The only other ride we rode was there baloons that spin round and round. Erica, mom, and Carter sat this one out. Maybe Carson and I should have sat out too, becasue we both almost lost it

Big boy bath

The other night I decided that Carter was big enough to take a bath without the baby bathtub. Well, I was wrong! The bottom of the bathtub was really slippery and he slid everywhere, and even slid underwater! Doesn't he look worried in this picture? I guess we'll have to wait a while to take a big boy bath! This tub is MUCH better!

Baby's first Halloween

Last week in the mail Carter got this adorable outfit from cousin Joanie. I think he looks so adorable in it! Carter is looking forward to his first Halloween!

Here's a picture of another cute Halloween outfit Carter has.

Sitting up!

Last week Carter started really sitting up by himself for long periods of time. He is so proud of himself!
