Baby Genius?

Okay, now I know that I may be biased, but I swear Carter did something today that bordered on genius for an almost 10 month old. Today while I was getting ready I had him sitting in his Bumbo seat, like always. I keep him there so that he is contained and he will still entertain himself. Anyway, he was sitting there going through his basket of toys and he picked up a sock. Then I looked over and he was TRYING TO PUT THE SOCK ON HIS OWN FOOT!!! I swear it's true! I looked at him and said, "Carter, you're a little genius" and he just smiled at me. :)
On another note, his is still OBSESSED with throwing balls. He will sit and play catch with you or he will throw the ball and crawl after it himself. He has a great attention span! The one thing he is not good at is sitting still for a picture- imagine that, so below is my best attempt at getting some pictures!

I'm off to Harvard!

Two new tricks!

Carter and I had a great day today! I took the day off and I just loved it. I spent the morning cleaning the house and then in the afternoon I took him to Willowbend to play on the playground. At the playground I kept waving to him saying "Hi Carter" and then he began waving back to me! It was so exciting! He loved crawling around the playground and looking at all of the kids! After Willowbend we went to the grocery store. There he did his second new trick! I had a burp cloth with me because he has a runny nose. After I wiped his nose with it (okay this sounds gross, but it wasn't) I covered his eyes with it and said "Where's Carter?" and he pulled it down. Then he put it over his face himself, and when I said "Where's Carter" he pulled it down. We did this over and over, it was so cute! Then when I put Carter in the car, he tried to put his paci in my mouth. He kept trying, so I finally put it in my mouth and he laughed and laughed. He's really getting a sense of humor!
Kris' parents are in town and he really impressed him with his ball throwing skills. He has this big blue spikey ball that he has to palm to hold and he played catch for at least 10 minutes (probably longer). That's a pretty good attention span for a 9 month old! waving

Fruit and first ice cream

I have been meaning to blog about this for a week, but you know how that goes......anyway, last Sunday Carter and I went to lunch at La Madeleine and then shopping with Stacy for my birthday. At La Madeleine Carter got to eat a yummy fruit bowl, and then at the mall, I got Carter his very first ice cream cone. As you can see Carter loved both things! Eating fruit at La Madeleine
Yummy ice cream!

this is great!

almost gone.........

I want more!

Mall fun

Today my mom, Carter and I met Erica, Caden, Emma and Ella at the mall. We had a great time and found great deals at The Children's Place (of course). I got Carter 2 sweatshirts, a pair of Khaki pants, a Valentine's Day shirt and a pair of gloves all for next year for a grand total of $11. Not too shabby! As I was driving to the mall I was remebering that a year ago I got Carter the precious camo cargo pants that were my favorite when he was a tiny baby. I remember it was this day, because afterwards I went to Mica's house with Jess and Tolson to watch the Oscars! Carter wore his Prince Charming shirt. :)
Carter and the girls (in their new stroller)- see how they match (the strollers)

Maybe someday I will be the...........

but for right now, I will just sit on the bench.

What's wrong with Carter's toys?

First off, I never thought that my den would look like this. It looks like to toy fairy threw up there. I guess this wouldn't be so bad is Carter liked HIS toys, but it seems like even with all of the toys he has, he would rather play with non-toys! You can see some examples below! assortment of toys for Carter

The handle on the entertainment center is more fun.
So is the TV remote.

and hangers.

The beautiful rainbow we saw when we walked out. You can't tell in this picture, but it was a double rainbow, a perfect end to a birthday party for twins!

Basketball Star

Today Carter and I went to see the star basketball player "Uncle Colt" play his last game. Even though they didn't win, Colt did a great job!
