Kid Country

DSC_0900_edited-1
Since it was Spring Break for everyone, we just had to plan to meet up with our best friends. We met Erica and her crew at a good halfway point at a park in Coppell for a picnic and playtime. We had great weather and a great time!

The humidity was through the roof, which effected Carter's hair.....can you tell?

Tender Heart

DSC_0076_edited-1
Carter always likes to look at pictures of himself from when he was a baby, so tonight after I put Abby to bed, I got out the DVD of his first year slide show. He sat in my lap watching it, laughing and talking about all the pictures. He told me I looked young in them, haha! We had been watching a while when the part came on with the song, "What a Wonderful World" by Lois Armstrong. We watched as the pictures scrolled by, and then he turned and looked at me and his eyes welled up with tears. I asked him what was wrong and he put his head on my shoulder and started crying. H finally told me it made him sad looking at all those pictures and hearing that song......what a sweet little heart he has. I told him he was my first baby and he always will be. I will never forget that sweet moment we had and how very special he is. :)

No!

DSC_0063_edited-1
This ssweet girl doesn't like to hear the word no. :) The other day I was cooking dinner and she was playing on the floor. She scooted over to the dog bowls. She picked a (glass) bowl up. I had raw chicken on my hands, so I coudln't go and move it, so I looked at her and said, "No." She put it down, then looked at me and picked it up again. So, I looked at her and said no again. She once again put it down, then looked at me and picked it up again. This time I raised my voice a little and said in a more stern voice, "No." She screamed, put the bowl down and began scooting towards me as fast as she could crying and saying "Ma, ma, ma, ma." Tough lesson!

Mommy and Me at the Dallas Arboretum

Katie invited us to go with them to the Arboretum and I coudln't pass up the chance on such a beautiful day. We got blessed with perfect weather and had such a great time!

The petting zoo was super fun, this sheep was so soft!
And for some reason I don't have the picture on here, but the kids threw coins into a fountain and made a wish, and Carter threw his and said, "I wish I was Sonic." Then he told me that you have to wait until the night for he wish to come true. I love it!

Off come the training wheels!

A few weeks ago we took off the training wheels off of Carter's bike. He did good that day, but was still really nervous and could't get himself started. We held off a few weeks and finally got it back out today. After a few tries, he just took off and figured it out. I was SO proud of him and it has opened a whole new door of fun!
