Holiday recap

Scroll down for posts on our holiday events!

On another note, last night I went with my mother and sister in law to see Marley and Me. I loved it! I laughed and I cried....and then cried some more. I highly reccomend it, though I think it should have been rated PG-13. :)

Christmas day

We spent Christmas day with both of our families. We went over my family's house on Christmas morning. We opened presents and ate breakfast. Then after Carter had a nap, Kris' parents came over! Isn't it neat that Carter gets to see so much of all of his family?!?

Carter loved his new nerf balls

Dad got a fry daddy from my brothers.

Even with ALL of the new toys Carter got, he played with this old toy (10 years old) instead!

Austin spent a lot of time programming his new itouch

Back at our house Carter helped pass out presents

Here's one for Gramps.

Gram and Gramps got lots of entertainment letting Carter have their phone and then calling him. He would dance to the ringtone. They thought it was SO funny!

Kris got the Godfather series on BluRay

Aunt Kristen helped Carter open up a present.

He got some new shoes!

Ohh, a big present! Gram and Gramps had Mommy and Daddy convinced it was a drum set!

But it's not!

What is it?

Hmmmmm, a 'ruck!

Cool!

Now it's charged and really fun!

Tomorrow will be better when we can go outside!

Christmas Eve

We made it back from Midland on Christmas Eve on time to make it to Colt's Christmas play at church. We enjoyed watching Colt play Joeseph.

All ready to go to church!

Our trip to Midland

We headed over to Midland for a few days to celebrate Christmas with Kris' grandpaents. They are past the point of being able to travel, so we went to see them. It was quite a long drive, but we made it thanks to one of Carter's early Christmas presents, a DVD player. He loved watching Barney, Toy Story, Cars and Monster's Inc. on the trip both ways. He slept a total of 1 1/2 hours during the 10 hours we were in the car. Needless to say, I was busy keeping him entertained (since he really doesn't sit through a whole show except Barney)with books and stickers for much of the time!
We had a nice time while we were there, though Carter had a cold and was a little grouchy. I have found that once you have kids, everything turns into an adventure!

Are we there yet?

Oh, yeah and the other thing that kept him entertained was food!

Gram and Gramps let him open a present early.

He has gotten past being upset about tearing paper, and now loves it!

He got a new puzzle!
