April 20 was a day I looked forward to for over nine months, I am so glad I got to celebrate it with my sweet girl!

Proud big brother!

Carter was so excited for me and Abby to take him to school! He and Ma made brownies with pink icing to bring and he had pink, "It's a girl" suckers as well. He proudly carried them in and asked his friends if they wanted to "pet" Abby. I told him he was the only one who got to pet her for now, which made him feel even more special. Since I teach full time I have not been able to take him or pick up pick him up from school, so this has been quite a treat. He gave me lots of hugs and kisses (Abby too) and went with his class. He made me feel so special.

Carter as a big brother

As the end of my pregnancy neared, I started to have a lot of fear as to how Carter would do as a big brother. He is so used to being the center of attention...only child and only grandchild on both sides. He preformance in the hospital did not help my fears of jealousy. With that being said, once we got home and things got back to "normal" on Monday, he has been so wonderful. He loves to hug Abby, give her kisses, blow her kisses and asks how she is doing all the time. When she is crying he tried to give her her paci or holds her hand. He has adjusted better than I could have imagined. The big thing for me now is to make sure he doesn't help too much....case in point. The other day I went to take a shower. Abby was asleep in her bed and Carter was watching a movie. I told him that I was going to take a shower and that Abby was asleep in her bed, and not to bother her. Well, I had the video monitor on the counter, and was trying to watch it as I showered and what do I see, a little hand reaching through the bars trying to hold her hand. He is just too funny, always wanting to know she is okay.

This is a picture of the first time that Carter got to hold Abby. He was so proud. He couldn't wait for Meemaw to see him holding her, he said, "She's going to be so suprised!"

Abby comes home!

Carter was so excited for me and Abby to come home from the hospital! I was ready to leave room 428 as well, though I thought the hospital was excellent!

Daddy and Carter brought doughnuts. Carter likes eating them in my bed.

Meemaw watched over Abby as we packed our stuff up.

Kris let Carter pick out this huge balloon at the gift shop. I didn't take a picture, but as they were wheeling me out, Carter lead the way carrying the balloon. It was so cute!

When we got home, I put Abby in something a little more comfortable. Here Fenway is checking out her new baby sister.

Later that day daddy stayed home with Abby while Carter and I went to Chickfila for dinner. That's right, I was out and driving the day I came home from the hospital, yay for an easy delivery!

Erica left bright and early Saturday morning, so I got some quiet alone time with my sweet girl. I spent a little time taking some pictures, trying to capture every detail of her newborn self. I love these precious pictures.

Day 2 in the hospital

My mom left the hospital pretty early and I spent some quiet time with Abby. I got her all dressed up and took some pictures. I got out an email and pictures announcing her arrival.

Kris and Carter came with doughnuts and Carter was more interested in his new baby sister this time.
