Sandesin Day 1

DSC_0083_edited-1
Way back in January my mom had the idea for us to take a trip Flordia. She told Erica about her idea and she quickly jumped on board. And after many hours of researching, they decided that a condo in Destin, actually Sandestin, a resort area, would be the best option. Since Kris has a new job, he wasn't able to go because he couldn't take off of work. We missed him while we were gone! Nevertheless, Saturday night we loaded up the car and got ready to drive the 12 hours to Flordia. We decided the best bet was to drive through the night so the kids would be asleep for most of the trip.

When I got the my parent's house with ALL of my stuff, I thought my dad was going to faint...it takes a lot of stuff to have a baby gone for five nights! My parents borrowed bags to go on top of the car, so he managed to get everyone's stuff in/on the Explorer!

Austin was a big helper too. Our car was jammed packed with people and stuff!

Sweet Abby fell asleep before we even left. We were shooting to leave at ten and we were on the road by 9:40, we were SO excited!

Abby was an AWESOME traveler! She slept all night and was so good when she was awake. I was so proud of her!

Abby and I sat in the very back, above was my view. Carter, my mom and Colt sat in the middle, and Austin and my dad sat in the front and took turns driving. The drive seemed to take FOREVER! Carter did pretty good. He slept for a while, but was also up quite a bit. While he was up he was pretty entertained with his iTouch and DVD player. My dad did such a good job driving through the pitch blackness outside! Some memories of our drive down are: Todd quotes, Love and marriage, love and marriage, goes together like a horse and cabbage (this is how Colt thought the song went) and Colt saying, "There is snow everywhere!" when he saw the sand on the beach out the window.

We got into Destin at about 11:30 and had some time to kill since we couldn't check into out condo until 4. We decided to have lunch at Fudpuckers. There was a lot to look at there!

Carter loved riding the alligator! There was a lot to look at while we waited to eat.

Lots of gators!

Carter watching Colt feeding a gator, though they were not too interested in eating.

These gators get fed so much, they were no too interested in our food. Kinda dissapointing.

My poor dad was so tired from driving all night, he feel asleep on the bench waiting for out table.

Carter had an ice cream sandwich snack while we waited on the Stewarts to arrive!

When the Stewarts arrived they quickly changed to swimsuits and Emma got right to taking pictures on Erica's iPhone!

Carter quickly got a hold of Carson's DSi and began playing it!
