Happy 30th Birthday Jess!

When I got the invitation to Jessica's 30th birthday at a cool place downtown, I wasn't sure I would Be able to make it. It was set for 10 days after my due date, so I replied with a maybe. Fortunately I have been feeling so great since having Abby I was able to go. I didn't plan on staying long, but we had a problem with the service, so my 2 week old baby was partying at St. Ann's in Dallas until after 11! I felt a little odd walking through the young Dallas night life crowd with my baby carrier when we were leaving, but a good time was had by all!!

Carter was SO excited that his best buddy at school Cade invited him over to his house to play. Cade has a cool house with all sorts of fun things to play with. After the boys played inside awhile, they got to play in his backyard which was just as much fun. Carter had a blast. I love being home and able to do these kinds of things with Carter!

2 weeks!

Miss Abby turned 2 weeks today. It seems like she has been here much longer than that. She is such a sweet, alert, content baby. Here are few 2 week facts.

She loves he paci and when it falls out of her mouth, she gets mad!

She is a pretty good sleeper. She goes 4-5 hours between feedings at night and is generally good about going right back to sleep after she wakes up. I just have to make sure she burps (which can take a while at times) or else she will be grouchy.

She still has her cord. I am so ready for it to fall off so she can have a real bath!

She loves to be held, but doesn't mind being in her carseat.

She doesn't cry much except for when she is hungry...or from 6-8 in the eveving, then she is pretty gouchy and wants to be held. He cry is so loud, but she will turn it right off when she gets what she wants!

Miss Abby Paige, we love you so much! Happy 2 weeks!

Hungry, hungry duckies!

I had tons of leftover bread, so I decided to head over to the neighborhood duckpond to get rid of it. We hadn't been in a while, so Carter got quite a kick out of feeding the ducks, and man, they were hungry!

Carter had to sample the "quesidillas" aka tortillas that I brought....don't worry, they weren't that old!

These ducks (geese?) were very aggresive and had to be in the middle of the action. They backed off and "regular" ducks that got too close!


Abby was really into it, ha!

Carter was SO excited to wake up Easter morning and find out that the Easter Bunny visited our house!

Giving Wrigley a little attention

20 bucks!

Carter was invited to an Easter Egg hunt with friends down the street. I was feeding Abby, so Colt took him. After the hunt, Carter ran in excitedly and said, "I found the golden egg, I got 20 bucks!" He was the lucky winner and so proud!

Carter with his 20 bucks! He immediatly wanted to go to Toys R Us to spend it on a Wolverine toy. I told him we had to wait until the next day. Monday morning, he woke up bright and early and the first thing he said was that he wanted to spend his 20 bucks!

So, off to Toys R Us we went! He ran in with his golden egg in hand. He was soooooo excited!

It took a long time and a lot of contemplating, but he finally decided on a Spiderman with a car and a Wolverine with a car. Notice the golden egg on the floor behind him. :)

He proudly handed the cashier his 20 bucks!

Sleeping Beauty

So when Carter was a newborn he was such a good sleeper. He was pretty much sleeping through the night (10pm-5am) when he was 8 days old, so I was not too surprised last night when Abby slept from 9pm-5am. She had done something similar last week as well. When Carter was this age, my pediatrician had me bring him in to be weighed to make sure he was gaining weight and then she told me I could let him sleep as long as he wanted to. So, I decided to take Abby in to be weighed to make sure I could let her sleep as well. I brought her to a place in the hospital where they will weigh your baby for free. When I told the nurse there how long she slept, she about fainted and make me feel like an awful mother. I told her this exact thing happened with my little boy, but she still looked disapprovingly at me! Anyway, she proceeded to weigh her and she was 8 pounds 10 ounces! Just a week prior she was 7 pounds 14 ounces. The nurse was very impressed with her weight gain, but still gave me a speech about how many feedings she should have- sheesh. The nurse would be happy to know it was a fluke anyway...she hasn't slept like that again, but is still giving me 4-5 hours at night.

I wanted to get a few shots of Abby in this sweet outfit, but she wasn't going for it. Carter on the other hand wanted his picture made, but had carzy hair and pajamas on.....so these shots aren't quite picture perfect, but they're pretty sweet to me!

Happy Easter!

Abby's first Easter. I don't know why, but Kris hated this outfit. He said it was obnoxious. I thought it was cute!

We went to my parent's house for dinner. The old guys played the kids in basketball. The old guys won! Carter wanted to play so bad. I felt sorry for him. :(

While Kris was playing (barefoot) be hurt his toe and it was bleeding. Carter was so worried- he hled this band-aid for him the whole time.

Abby's bunny hat was too big....this was the best picture I could get of her in it.

I couldn't resist getting a picture of her in her Easter basket....I wish she would have cooperated better....I had better visions for this photo!

Earth Day Concert

Our sub divison had a fun concert for Earth day. My mom and Colt came out to watch it with us.
